With it being the first day of Summer I thought I would let you all in on my top 3 ways I stay cool when I visit Walt Disney World during the Summer.
Rope drop the parks. Meaning get there before they open in the morning. About 15 minutes prior to early entry for resort guests, and 30 minutes prior to opening for all other guests. Then do indoor attractions that have air-conditioning. Don't worry I will supply you a list of those and the best game plan to not zig-zag throughout the park. We don't want unnecessary walking in that heat.
Take a break in the afternoon maybe after the 3 o'clock parade. Head back to your resort to freshen up, eat a late lunch, and take a rest.
Go back to the park around sunset. Experience the outdoor attractions once the sun goes down. Enjoy the nighttime entertainment, and do your shopping after park closing. Take in that air-conditioning in the stores and avoid the exiting crowds with overcrowded busses.
(A) Plan pool days. The day after the parks I like to plan pool days. The long park days and heat make it almost a necessity to sleep in and take it easy the next day. Spend the afternoon at the pool and the evening exploring Disney's transportation systems Monorail, Skyliner, and boats.
(B) For my non swimmers. Plan a late character breakfast (to sleep in) or character dinner. Get that Disney immersion in an air conditioned restaurant. Get sweat free pictures and save the park time for attractions. Explore the resorts or take in the Electrcal Water Parade after dinner. It makes an appearance at the Magic Kingdom resorts most evenings.
Experience the parks through Disney's After Hours events. A seperate paid event where you spend late nights in a selectet theme park including Typhoon Lagoon water park. Features low wait times for rides so you get more done in a shorter amount of time, plus you get snacks! The nighttime entertainment is also included in After Hours. This event is best for people who are only interested in rides, not shows or characters.
My final thought on staying cool during your Summer Disney World vacation would be remember to pack cooling towels, neck fans/spritzing fans, and a water bottle. Refill your bottle often at one of the quick service locations with complimentary water.
** Bonus Tip: The lowest price point for Summer Disney vacations is the last two weeks of August. Good news is there is still plenty of time & money saving promotions left for you to have a Walt Disney World vacation during Summer of 2025. Plus Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party will have started. Who doesn't love the Halloween Party at the lowest price available!?!?
